When it comes to cleaning and polishing wood and faucets most products sold for this purpose are full of dangerous chemicals. Some just clean and others just provide a shine. Using 1 tablespoon of vinegar, 2 tablespoons of olive oil mixed with 3 cups warm water in a spray bottle, you can clean and polish wood furniture naturally. By spraying the solution onto a clean towel and wiping it into the wood with the grain.  If a child or pet gets into the mixture there will be no chemicals to worry about them ingesting.  You can add a teaspoon of lemon oil for a pleasant smell and an extra deep clean. A fresh lemon can also be used by itself to remove limescale in the bathroom and kitchen. Simply rub the lemon around the scale and let it sit overnight then simply wipe clean.

Before polishing your furniture you might have a few water marks, grease stains or dull polish to deal with.  Removing a water mark is as simple as dabbing mayonnaise onto the mark, letting it sit overnight and buffering off. You can also apply table salt over grease stains for a few hours and gently wipe away. This will soak up and remove grease. After both of the above methods have been used and before polishing and cleaning you notice previous polish build up simply use a few black tea bags from your afternoon tea and wipe the wood down with them and follow with a clean towel. The tannin in the tea helps to gently remove years of polish build up.

After you use the lemons to remove the scale throw them down your disposal to help remove odors in the sink and add a pleasant smell to your kitchen. You can also throw them in a pot of water with cinnamon, anise, and other spices and simmer on low to add a pleasant smell throughout the entire house. Baking soda and your expired coffee can be used to absorb odors anywhere in the house when placed in shallow dishes. My new favorite all natural odor remover is mother nature, plants! You can look on-line for plants that are non-toxic to animals and children and place one or two in all main rooms. They help naturally remove odors and are great for your breathing environment.
