(Part 2) – Road Trip To Las Vegas, NV – Jan 2017 – Ghost Town in New Mexico

New Mexico was a blur for the most part. Only a little over 165 miles from one side to the other on I-10 (Unlike Texas and it’s 600+ across). We did stop at a ghost town off the side of the road around mile marker 4. Oddly enough, it’s the 3rd time we tried to stop at this particular ghost town and it’s always closed. Apparently, the owner was murdered by a drifter passing through a couple years ago and the wife inherited it. She’s not sure how to market or maintain it I don’t think.

At any rate, she gave us permission to take pictures from outside the fences due to a toxic fumigation that was going on while showing concern for our health. One of these days we’ll roll up to this ghost town and it will be open so I can check out the inside of some of the buildings (I love me some abandoned buildings. I think I may have to add that to a series list eventually when we start traveling more regularly.)

Below are a few of the pics we took this time around.

Little ghost towns like these across the U.S.A. is what makes road trips more exciting. You have to love coming into contact with 1700’s/1800’s history that’s still standing. You can’t get this experience on an airplane! 😉
